Windows Shell Programming

This page contains source concerning Windows '95 shell and namespace extensions. A namespace extension is a part of the Windows virtual folder system, such as My Computer, Dial-Up Networking, Printers and Recycle Bin.

The code and information presented here will help you implement namespace extensions or virtual folders of your own using either Delphi 3 or 4. These virtual folders can then be viewed through Windows Explorer.

This newer code is based on John Lam's WinShell.ZIP and updated by Andrew Strong (such that it works). Read the header of RegisterExtension.PAS for more information regarding registering the server and getting it to work.

Also included is a document explaining the process of creating a shell extension using Delphi.
